Finally, L laughed. It was demonic, just like his character.
Not much has happened in this episode. Well as far as killing is concerned, nope, nobody died today. There is an exciting progress though in the silent battle between Kira and L. Lo and behold, the two geniuses meet.

hi. i have decided to use entry breaks in writing the anime episodes. i figured it would save much loading time with less texts per entry. ^^ hoho. i wonder why i just thought of this now? i'll be including more than 6 images too, although that would apply on my next summary. you can refer to the sample [ here ]. ^^
ugh. i'm really tired. i need to close my eyes now. ^^ oyasumi.
I would say that this episode bored me. Come on, L and Light, stop bickering already. I know under normal circumstances they should be cautious about each other's identity, but seriously, checking each other's arse all the time gets pretty annoying. I mean, constantly worrying about what the other is thinking? Trying to predict what's gonna happen? Really. If only 60% of episode 10 didn't cover their brains. We already know they are highly intellectual, okay?!

Alright, what a glorious comeback! I admit that in episode 10 I became worried at the thought that this whole thing is starting to look like a familiar road where I will become disappointed and like so many other anime titles I've seen, Death Note will be removed, trashed and completely forgotten.
Considering that I almost choked to death for being so bored that time. But I guess I'm completely wrong. This series, as I hoped, never ceased to amaze me at my most unguarded moments. *love*

I badly need to catch up. I'm going to make 2 fast forward entries. ^^ Let's see how fast my fingers type. let's clock it!
EPISODE 12 - The investigation team let Light watch the Kira-impersonator tapes. Once Light made his impressions which matched L's thoughts on the idea that a second Kira may exist, L made Light respond to the tapes "as if" he's first Kira. Meanwhile, Rem, Misa's Shinagami, explained how a Shinigami may be killed. That is, by making the Shinigami fall in love with a human. EPISODE 13 - Misa sent a video and a journal to Sakura TV. a couple of places were mentioned in the said journal and the investigation team went to each one. Clever Misa saw Light as he passed by the Blue Note club, and she easily found out he was Kira. It was said that the human who holds a death note and has the Shinigami eyes cannot see his/her own lifespan, including the lifespan of the other person who also possesses the Death Note. Finally, the two of them met. EPISODE 14 - Misa and Light decides to get rid of L. Light believes Misa's Shinigami eyes will help him know L's real name. However, it appears difficult to make Misa meet L. In the end, Light requests Misa to make Rem kill L instead. Rem agreed. EPISODE 15 - Light decides to postpone L's death. Ryuk commented that he thought it was because of what L told him the other day, that "Light was the first friend I ever had". Misa gave Light one of her cellphones so that they could contact each other. The next day Misa appeared at Light's university just as he was talking with L. Obviously, she saw L's name. She then turned to leave. L and Light parted ways. Light took out his cellphone to call Misa and ask for L's true name. However, before he can make his move, L had Misa arrested for being suspected as the second Kira. It appears they searched her house and they found the Kira tapes. Misa was bound and had her eyes blindfolded. They started interrogating her. In the end, Misa says she wants to "die" and what it meant was that she wants to give up her death note. Her memories were erased and the death note ownership was passed on to Light. Rem then ordered Light that he had to save her, otherwise Rem will kill him. Okay, the clock says 10:14. I started at 9:49. That's 25 minutes. Not bad. ^^ I usually spend about 4 hours just giving all the details of one episode. ^^
second entry. ^^ i hope this won't become a habit of mine.
episodes 16-20 are not as interesting as the previous ones. they mostly talk, talk and talk. XD here we go: EPISODE 16 - Misa's personality changed as her memories about the Death Note were erased. Light Yagami appears and volunteered himself to be confined in prison as he thinks he "maybe is, after all, Kira". Chief Yagami was shocked. Driven by his emotions for his son, he decided to leave the investigation team and had L confined him also. He believes he might do something reckless that may put the team in jeopardy. A week later, Light decides to put his plans into actions. He said the words "I discard it" and Ryuk responded. A little while later, Light's eyes completely changed and a look of innocence [ how charming! ~love~ ] replaced his previous wicked exterior. EPISODE 17 - Rem has passed on Misa's Death Note to another user. She told the mystery man that he must kill the criminals whose faces appear on the large screen before them, and once accomplished, he may then use the Death Note for his personal purpose. Meanwhile, L decides to release his captives, since it has been 50 days already and nothing has been proven while criminals die by the minute. However, he still has one plan to make sure they are all innocent. Chief Yagami took Misa and Light for a ride. He explained along the way that they were going to the execution chamber. A few minutes later he pulled th car on the side of the road and took out his gun. He said he will kill Light and then himself. As for Misa, she would have to proceed to her own execution. Light fought and argued with him as tears sting his eyes. Misa was crying too, and when Chief Yagami finally pulled the trigger no bullet came out. Both of them passed L's test. If one of them was the second Kira, Chief Yagami would have been dead already. Still, L decides to watch them and cuffed both his and Light's wrists, so that they won't be separated. EPISODE 18 - the whole team transferred to a new building equipped with modern equipment to facilitate their investigation. Light was able to notice that there seems to be deaths connected to the Yotsuba company. Meanwhile the cops were ordered to pull out from the Kira investigation as Kira announced that as long as he was not hunted, he will not kill politicians. Chief Yagami told them that if the keep on hunting Kira they will be fired. Aizawa thought about his family, and he decided he cannot risk being unemployed. However, Watari reminded them the fact that L would financially support a cop in the even that he gets fired. Aizawa was surprised but he had made his decision already. It appears that L was just testing him. He angrily left the building. New members appeared in the name of Aiba [ the con artist ], and Wedy [ a thief ]. They will help the team investigate Yotsuba Corp EPISODE 19 - A Yotsuba board member got in touched with Eral Coil and wanted to know L's true identity L was. However, it turns out that Eral Coil, L, and the other big detective Danuve, were one and the same. Meanwhile Matsuda went to Yotsuba's building as he was driven by his desire to help the team. It appears that Matsuda had no special skills and for the past few months he had been nothing but burden to the group. He was able to get to the secret room but was caught. He explained that he was Misa's manager and he wanted their sponsorship. He also sent t a distress signal to Watari through his belt and L tried to get information by calling Matsuda's phone and pretending he was a friend who wants to invite Matsuda for a drink. He calls Misa and asks for her presence in the Yotsuba building. Meanwhile, Misa calls Light when she found out Light left her a message. L and his team were certain he was already in danger. A plan was devised to save Matsuda's idiotic arse. Misa came and with other cute girls they entertained the board members. Matsuda went to the comfort room and told L their suspicions were true. L told him of their plans. He came back and pretended he was very drunk. He hoisted himself up on the balustrade and made several stunts while trying to keep his balance. However, he slipped an arm and fell. About a few floors below the Yotsuba room he was caught by the mattress L's team had positioned and a guy threw a bag that made a bone-shattering kind of sound. The men look down and saw his body on the side of the road. It was actually Aiba disguised as Matsuda. The ambulance came and took his body. Inside were Light and L. The next day the newspaper flashed Misa's manager's death. Meanwhile, Wedy was able to put hidden cameras and wire taps all over the Yotsuba building. EPISODE 20 - the cameras and wire taps installed inside the building helped L and his team investigate the Yotsuba members. They were indeed talking about the deaths they should commit, against the company's competitors. Chief Yagami decides to arrest all of them as the videos were enough proof already. However, L argues that this was not a good idea because they were not yet certain as to who was the real Kira. In the end, L told them that they may pursue their own methods and work separately. L went to Misa's room, and since he and Light were connected by the cuffs, Light had to go to in spite that he supported his father's decisions. L then reveals his own plans to Light and Misa, and the said plans involve Eral Coil [ Aiba ] telling the Yotsuba group that Misa knows L. At first Light argues this was dangerous, but L convinces him that if they win, Misa won't die. Alright, now I'm just 1 episode late! XD.
A pretty interesting episode. A lot of Misa exposure. You got that right. I love Misa but I feel kind of sad because not many people are like her - pure-hearted. She's unfortunate for ever meeting L, for being the second Kira, for giving up half of her lifespan in exchange of the Shinigami eyes. She truly deserves a better life. But when you look at her and her energetic self, you would not think she has been through a lot of pain. You would wonder where she gets all that motivation. I can't be like that. When I'm sad, I want the whole world to be just as sad. I can't be Misa who, despite everything that has happened to her, she could still smile so beautifully.
I kind of miss Ryuk too.. ^^

I want to get this out of my chest before anything else: Pan's Labyrinth (movie) is soooooo cool! It has nothing to do with this episode, except that I've watched both the same day, and I'm really glad. Please expect a summary about the movie tomorrow. ^^
I think I should be talking about EP 22 now. ^^ Let me start with tackling the video quality. Since I converted the .AVI file into .MP4 immediately after downloading it from Kuro Hana, I missed noticing the poor quality of the file when I watched it through my IPod Video [ no plugging ]. When I began writing the review and I had the AVI file ran through VLC Media Player, I then realized how "visually" different it was compared to the previous releases of Kuro Hana [ see my screenshots ]. However, please don't mistake this as a negative attack to the subbing group, because I really am thankful for their hard work. It just made me think that "perhaps" they've spent less time working on EP 22. Are they being wary of the fact that Death Note is already licensed and maybe in a few weeks' time some of the big guys will ask them to pull out their torrents just like what Live-Evil did? Are they speeding things up so that they'll finish subbing the rest before the big fish takes over? These are just assumptions and in no way reliable. Again, my prejudices -- don't take them seriously.. Second, I have been meaning to discuss the opening & ending songs of Death Note. "The World" [ 1st OP ] and "Alumina" [ 1st ED ], both performed by Nightmare, are really cool. I suppose Yomi on vocals being comparable to the voices of Tetsu and Hyde clouded my opinion about them but nevertheless, I like the songs. However, come EP 20 I've started fast-forwarding the video just to avoid listening to a pretend-rock song "What's Up, People" by Maximum the Hormone. Geez, even the band name sucks [ talk about grammatical disaster ]. In addition, I don't wait even just a sec to get a glimpse of "Despair Billy" [ 2nd ED, again, sung by Maximum the Hormone] after seeing it once. So, without much contemplation, I'm going to allow you download only the first opening & ending songs. The World - Nightmare Alumina - Nightmare Enjoy.

i have always loved watching shows about police car chases. they're exciting, intense and pretty much the alternative for a normal person to see the wilder side of the world. well, Death Note episode 23 has its own share too. it's really, intense.
i feel bad about the late release of this entry. i was pretty knocked up yesterday from too much work and i slept early, around 8pm. i slept fifteen hours straight. i woke up twelvish. :3 what a nice slumber. i should do that more often. anyway, i'm glad this is the end of the Yotsuba arc. higuchi's face really disgusts me. btw, kuro-hana is going to sub Death Note ~the last name~ [ Death Note Movie Part II ]. the first movie which starred battle royale hero tatsuya fujiwara is a bit of a let down. seriously i didn't like it. why? well maybe because it completely lacked the element of surprise. they should have at least rolled up their sleeves working on an original concept considering we're already fed up about the manga & anime adaptation. i mean the anime closely following the manga is supposed to be enough. but with the movie following both - that has to be tiring for us fans. the producers of the movie could have done a marvellous job of expanding the possibilities of Death Note, rather than making a movie which simply fast-forwarded the first 10 episodes. *sigh* i am not going to expect anything from DN part two. just watching the spoilers i already have an idea on what this ~last name~ is all about. of course, i'll watch it. pathetic little me. ^^ so.. here comes Episode 23...

gomeeeen! [ so sorry!!! ], i wasn't able to post episode summaries lately because i'm really engrossed with "hana kimi". i have been meaning to read the manga since, perhaps, high school, but i never got the chance -- and i don't know why! well, it's never too late, right?! and i just finished downloading up to vol 23. and another matter is the fact that tomorrow is - pauses for a second - Ozine fest 2007! i don't read the mag, it's really, lame, [ sorry ], but i'm a sucker for anime conventions [ yay! shopping! ]. so i guess i'll be seeing you guys around, eh? especially for tacom forum-ers. i have some clean up to make: higurashi no naku koro ni & bokura ga ita. i'm going to delete them and save spots for categories. man, i just realized writing summaries for finished animes isn't totally cool. why? because such animes are "LAOS" already. so-to-speak. SPRING ANIME 2007 is out! ^_^ I'm looking forward to new titles even if some people are actually disappointed! T___T Claymore sounds popular. And june -- Devil May Cry! Wo-hoo. me loves Dante. *love* death note 24 is out! i'm expecting a better quality since the file size is 180mb. maybe i'll write about it tomorrow... or later, when i'm still up. plus! i'm planning to re-watch bleach because i heard the fillers are over! [ really, i hate the bount season ]. i'm also excited at the latest episode of lost [ ep 14, season 3 ], and prison break too![ ep 22, season 2 ]. omg, wentworth miller was the guy @ mariah carey's music video of "we belong together". hehe. such sexy arse! *love* *love* i'll update soon! ^_^ |
