Welcome to ~CrispLeaf. This blog contains episode reviews, summaries, prejudices and music downloads [MP3s] on selected new anime titles. Feel free to have a look around, though it would be much appreciated if you can leave your comments before you go. - Makkun [ Japanese Name: Miharu Watanabe 美晴 渡辺] [ Best Viewed: Mozilla Firefox / 1024x768 ] We Love Fan Subs! One of the reasons why animes are so popular is because they are everywhere. You can watch them for free and almost without restrictions. But who is responsible for their massive distribution? Have we ever stopped to think whom should we be thankful for?
Fansub is short for fan-subtitled. This is a practice among fans to produce copies of a Japanese anime with subtitles in the language that others would understand. Most often, in english. Their man purpose is to make it easier for anime fans to obtain titles which are not yet licensed for official subtitling. They also do it as a way to promote an anime title prior to the original DVD release. Most fansubbers take great importance in subtitling an anime. You will see how much they are dedicated to it by comparing fansubs with original subs. There are karaoke subs which are usually not included in licensed copies. In addition, they put notes and guidelines to explain certain terms or events that may confuse the viewers. They even sub the small writings on the wall or paper that are not really of great significance in the story. All these for zero profit. Growing demands for more anime titles increase the population of Fansub Groups. Although they make no money from their work, there are expenses for powerful servers and larger bandwidths. That's why it's very important that people don't just download selfishly. They may show their appreciation by sharing or uploading through peer-to-peer connections (torrents) so that others can have their share. Those who sell fansubbed titles are bad people. Making money out of somebody else's sweat and effort is just cruel. So don't support them. If you can, just download them for personal purposes. But if you can't, then maybe you can help by not reselling copies yourself. Fansub Groups It'll be awesome if you also say "thank you" when you visit their site! ^_^
